Yuma County. The mission of the Board of Supervisors' Office is to oversee the smooth operation of the various County departments to ensure customer satisfaction with County services. This is accomplished by setting strategic goals for the County, adopting a budget, setting the property tax rate, advocating for necessary legislative changes, and monitoring progress in satisfying the County's customers.

City of Yuma. The City of Yuma, Arizona, is a full service council-manager government with a combined capital improvement and operating budget of $113 million. The incorporated area of Yuma is approximately 108 square miles and houses over 92,000 full-time residents. The City of Yuma has a water allocation of 50,000 acre-feet from the Colorado River. In 1854, after control of southern Arizona from Mexico to the U.S., a townsite was established at the junction of the Colorado and Gila Rivers name Colorado City, the Arizona City, and finally Yuma. Yuma was selected as the site of the Arizona Territorial Prison in 1876, and closed in 1909. Now known as the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, the prison is one of the city's most popular historical attractions. A dam on the Colorado River provides water for irrigation, and agriculture, tourism, and areas' military bases all contribute to Yuma's economy.

City of San Luis. Located at the border of Mexico and the United States, San Luis is a growing community of approximately 25,000 people. An estimated 85,749 privately-owned vehicles pass through its borders daily. San Luis is a growing U.S. Port of Entry town established in 1930 and incorporated in 1979. Since then, it has experienced a growth spurt, both in population and commercial expansion. San Luis is one of the fasted growing communities in Yuma County with its sister city, San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora across the border. Its population is estimated at 300,000.

City of Somerton. Located between San Luis and the City of Yuma on State Route 95, Somerton is a small community of approximately 10,000 residents. Town was established in 1898 and incorporated in 1918. Somerton boasts five city parks, and recreation facilities include an Olympic-size swimming pool, a community center with basketball and volleyball courts, a Senior Citizen Commuity Center, and Dove Valley, an 18-hole public golf course.

Town of Wellton. Wellton lies 29 miles east of the City of Yuma. It was founded in 1878 and incorporated in 1970. Winter and retired residents contributed to the local economy. The name Wellton came from the time water wells were drilled to service the Southern Pacific Railroad. Wellton is now home to 2,145 residents.

Cocopah Indian Reservation. The reservation is located at the southwest corner of Arizona, about 13 miles from Yuma (180 miles from Phoenix) and physically covers three separate areas, East Reservation, West Reservation, and North Reservation.
